Sharon Suncin Sharon was brought to the Institute for Maternal-Fetal Health (IMFH) in July of 2003, at a time when the partnership between Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and the USC Perinatolgy group had been finalized. She has been responsible for developing the IMFH’s patient services, such as, with David Miller, MD, establishing affiliating physician partnerships, developing a network of patient resources, establishing service standards with our partnering delivery hospital, and in collaboration with the team, development of the Care Management program. She is responsible for the administration of the IMFH, oversight of the non-physician staff, and enhancement of programs and services.

Sharon also works closely with the Division of Neonatal Medicine, under the umbrella of the Center for Fetal and Neonatal Medicine, of which the IMFH is a part, along with the Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unit at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. She is responsible for management of the non-physician staff within the Division. Working with the Division Chief, she participates in strategic planning, project management, fundraising, and the development of grants, for research and program development.

Before coming to the IMFH, Sharon was the Operations Manager of the Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unit (NICCU). She had been a part of the NICCU for many years, beginning as a staff RN, providing care for all types of NICCU patients, including the Transport Program, and ECMO programs. Other roles have been House Supervisor for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, and Project Management for creation of Satellite Neonatal Intensive Care Units.

Sharon attended Mount Saint Mary’s College and California State University Dominguez Hills. She is a member of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses, and is certified in Neonatal Resuscitation.
