Sonia Alvarado is a Teratogen Information Specialist (TI) and Supervisor with CTIS Pregnancy Risk Information. TI Specialists are trained to perform risk assessments for exposures to pregnancy from medications, drugs, illnesses or occupational exposures that could increase the risk for specific birth defects.
Sonia is located on-site at IMFH to provide one-on-one counseling to patients and act as a resource for physicians. CTIS Pregnancy Risk Information (CTIS) is a statewide program that conducts research and provides free health education to the public and health-care providers through a phone service available Monday through Friday at (800) 532-3749.
